High-pull-strength Biothane® designed to be tough on wear — and gentle on your dog.

What is Biothane® ?

Biothane® is one of the toughest, most reliable materials you can use for dog gear — which is exactly why I chose it for WalkWise. It’s a coated webbing that combines the strength of traditional materials with the comfort and flexibility dogs need.
What makes Biothane special is how well it holds up to real life. It’s waterproof, odor-resistant, and incredibly easy to clean — just wipe it down and it looks brand new. It won’t absorb moisture, dirt, or bacteria, making it perfect for rainy climates, muddy adventures, and dogs who live life to the fullest.
And durability? Biothane® has exceptional tensile strength, meaning it stands up to pulling, training, and everyday wear without stretching or breaking. It gives you the strength you need while staying lightweight and comfortable for your dog.
At WalkWise, Biothane lets us create gear that checks every box: quality, durability, safety, and style. It’s long-lasting, low-maintenance, and looks good doing it — everything we want for the dogs and owners who trust our products.

About Me

Hi! I’m Taylor, the creator of WalkWise Accessories. I’ve spent the last five years working hands-on with dogs in just about every environment — training sessions, daily dog walks, doggy daycares, and boarding facilities. Being around so many different dogs, personalities, and lifestyles has shown me one thing clearly: not all gear holds up to real life.

I constantly saw the same struggle from dog owners — collars and leashes that got grimy, fell apart, or couldn’t keep up with an active dog or a rainy climate. As a German Shepherd owner myself, I also noticed how hard it was to find gear for large breeds that wasn’t tactical, bulky, or uncomfortable.

WalkWise was my answer to all of that.

I wanted to create something better: comfortable, durable, easy-to-clean collars for everyday dogs and the people who love them. Our core values are simple — quality, durability, safety, and style — and every product reflects them.

Each WalkWise collar is made from high-quality Biothane® with incredible pull strength, and every piece is hand-made with care by me. My own German Shepherd, Jax, has been wearing the same WalkWise collar and leash I made him over three years ago — and they’re still going strong.

WalkWise is built on real experience, real dogs, and real life. I’m so glad you’re here, and I hope you and your pup love our gear as much as we do.

Frequently Asked Questions

WalkWise collars are handcrafted from high-quality Biothane®, a waterproof, odor-resistant, and ultra-durable material. They’re designed to be comfortable, easy to clean, and strong enough for everyday dogs — without the bulky, tactical look often found in large-breed gear.

Yes! Most WalkWise products can be customized for your dog’s size, neck shape, or color preferences. If you have a request, just message me!

Just wipe it down with water — that’s it! For tougher messes, mild soap works great. No soaking, no scrubbing, no lingering smells.

1. Grab a Soft Measuring Tape

A flexible sewing tape works best.

Don’t have one?

A piece of string, ribbon, or shoelace will do — just measure the length against a ruler afterward.

2. Measure the Base of the Neck

Wrap the tape around the widest part of your dog’s neck, where their collar naturally sits.

Make sure the tape is snug but not tight — it should rest flat against the fur without squeezing.

Tip: Avoid measuring too high up on the neck (that’s where the collar is thinnest and sizes vary).

3. Add Comfort Room

Use the two-finger rule:

Slide two fingers between the tape and your dog’s neck.

This ensures the collar won’t be too tight and leaves room for movement and coat thickness.

4. Get Your Final Number

Write down the measurement with the comfort room included.

This is your dog’s true neck size.

When ordering, choose the WalkWise collar size where your dog’s measurement falls roughly in the middle of the size range for the best fit and adjustability.

5. Measuring a Growing Puppy?

If your dog is still growing, pick a size where their current measurement sits on the lower end of the range — giving them room to grow safely.

Extra Tips:

  • Measure when your dog is standing, not lying down.
  • Double-check your measurement if your dog has fluffy or thick fur.
  • If your pup is between sizes, go up one for comfort
